20/20 Exposes Public Schools

Lexi and I just sat watching this entire show together on *youtube and we couldn’t help but shake our heads and thank GOD that she is homeschooled.

We are blessed to have the right to homeschool and must work together to help support each other in doing the best we can to produce well educated, and outstanding citizens – all for the glory of God.  It is our job!  We have no excuse in not giving our children the best education they can get and deserve.  Each of us will stand before God and have to explain why we settled for anything less than what they deserve and He asks of us – train His children in the way they should go.

Please take the time to watch this entire show.  Then share with your friends and encourage others to seek God’s best for their families!

I am a former classroom teacher (in both public and private schools) and am now homeschooling my own children. I am so thankful for the ability, desire, and means to educate my children at home.

I realize that homeschooling is not possible for everyone, and my heart aches for those children in sub-par schools. I watched part of that video and am saddened by a system that has removed God, morals, purpose, and learning.

The saddest part is this video is from 3 years ago. Just think how much worse public schools are now. I am so happy we homeschool!

Jenny - that is exactly what we were thinking too after watching it. Then I spent the day yesterday with an incredible young teen who does attend public school - he shared that it is like this or worse even in many ways. He clings to God with everything he has to shield himself from what he sees, hears and is forced to be around there. I will now be covering him in prayer in a new way this year as he enters 10th grade!

God help every teen in this country that is in public school to feel your very presence and power in their lives to stay strong!

Blessings,
Jill

ok. I haven't watched the video yet... but after our year with Agniya, here with us from Russia, we saw how our American schooling did not challenge her... except for the fact that it was in English.
sigh...

Wow, just watched the video. It really made me excited about our decision to homeschool. I grew up in public school and did well, but I know that I was capable of much more. Also, I wasn't learning about the Lord. I'm so thankful that we are able to choose to homeschool.

I went to public school, but it's been 11 years since I graduated, and I'm sure it's gotten much worse. There is so much wasted time in the schools, not to mention the problems the show shared about tenured teachers and no competition! Thank you so much for sharing this!

I went to public school too and remember what it was like - I shutter at the thought of things done back then. I'll be 43 this February. I can only imagine what it is really like now in most schools. I'm sure there are a few exceptions - but not enough to give me confidence to have our children set foot in one as a student!

Blessings everyone!
